What do you do when you have an hour to burn before some of your favourite people touchdown in Shanghai?

I always heard that according to psychologists, if your friendship lasts past 7 years, it will last forever. I just tried to find scientific proof of this online and in all honesty, the most credible source for this was either Pinterest or inspirationalquotes.club – you take your pick.
However, I find this to hold truth. The bunch of people who came to visit have been close friends for over 10 years now and time will tell…but I do get the feeling that these ones will stick around.
One knows that they’ve struck lucky when even though you live in three different countries, things don’t seem to change the moment you’re thrown back into the endless loop of conversations and laughs. When you can chill out without feeling to fill every second with words. When personal space no longer applies and you’re comfortable enough to fall asleep on the couch in front of them. When situations turn into private jokes and suddenly the whole world seems hilarious. When your favourite dishes arrive at your table and you just pig out with no restraint. When they just get you and small talk never has to come into play. When they brighten up the city you’ve been living in for four years, just by simply being there.
It has been a wonderful week.
