Do love potions exist? I’m not sure, but I do know that one of my relatives’ domestic helpers was once fired as she was caught making some sort of love potion for my uncle. How they knew what it was, I have no clue. Whether it had some sort of witchy-type craft associated with it or if it’s just fluff & fairy dust, I also have no clue.
But if love potions look like this…
…perhaps I should start believing.
Beautiful. Kitchen alchemy with herbs and flowers; aromatherapy meets sugar and cookery.
Mixing desserts with flowery herbs and simple syrups, instead of just mountains of chocolate – definitely an exciting idea. Contrary to popular belief, our sense of smell is estimated to be about ten thousand times more sensitive than our sense of taste. These syrups include intoxicating floral notes such as lavender & rose and stimulating scents like mint & citrus, fuelling the concept of a “love elixir”.
Just like all syrups, these can be poured over ice creams, added to cocktails or drizzled over vanilla bean cupcakes (yum!). The best part of this post is not just the pretty pictures – here’s a link to the recipes.
