Letters that Pop

Having a personal interest in hand-lettering, I flip through a whole lot of stuff on a daily basis. This particular one caught my attention today - Turkish graphic designer and electrical engineer Tolga Girgin experiments with calligraphy, making the letters seem to pop off the page. Through shading, shadows and different forms of perspective, they're given a new kind of life on the page. Really . . .

Miniature Works

Istanbul-based Microartist, Hasan Kale, uses extreme precision and a steady hand to create a series of impossibly small paintings using everyday objects as his canvas. According to Kale, “things we usually see can turn into something invisible” - this thought inspired his new direction and his work calls attention to the things that we see yet often ignore in daily life.
