Christmas in a Can

November 25, 2012 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

You know how most people have this perception that they do not want to end up being that lonely old woman (or man) with the cats? Well, I've thought of a new benchmark. This. I do not ever want to be that lonely old woman who eats Christmas dinners out of a can. I understand that we are in an incredibly fast-food, fast-everything society these days but Christmas and Thanksgiving is the one . . .

Sushi Giants

October 27, 2012 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

I seriously need to get myself to this place. Pronto. Umewaka. A sushi restaurant in Nagoya, Japan that is known to create insanely large sushi. The super-sized Anago sushi uses several slabs of eel fillets and could feed 6-8 sushi lovers. This is not a solitary sushi, feeling lonely in its giant-sushi world. Just the other day, I opted for some chicken porridge from KFC rather than the usual greasy - yet wonderful - pieces of chicken. McDonald's developed its whole 'healthy choice menu' but it looks like Burger King went over . . .

Knitting Fun

August 27, 2012 By Shermaine 2 Comments

That's one thing that I love about Shanghai - the multitude of events on every week. There's anything from drinking beer and seeing who's the hottest Hooter's girl in Shanghai, to 'blue' moon parties with buckets of booze, jello shots and body paint, to watching a film screening of Darjeeling Limited, to streetboarding World Cups, to visiting an exhibition filled with Olympics posters, to hearty . . .
