Happy Valentine's Day! Despite being in a nearly 9-year relationship (say whaat), I've never really been one to celebrate Valentine's Day. Not sure if people even send cards and letters these days. With the advent of technology and Facebook birthday reminders, just a simple message on the wall seems enough these days. CHINESE NEW YEAR. That time of year has come around again. When family reunites, the feasting never ends, houses turn into gambling dens, there are flashes of red and gold everywhere, mandarins are passed around, the same way-too-happy songs are played, lion dancers prance about, and red packets are received from all directions.
