With a creative mind and a whole lot of patience, Motoi Yamamoto created a sculpture named “Forest of Beyond”, solely using grains of salt. The massively intricate installation resembles the roots of a tree and was displayed at the Hakone Open Air Museum. Attendees were asked to help dissemble it bit by bit, by taking the salt with them and returning it to the sea to create a complete . . .

Colour me Pink

"Lake Hillier is a pink-coloured lake on Middle Island in Western Australia." The shallow briny lake is rimmed with white salt and encircled by dark green forests of eucalyptus and paperbark trees. A narrow strip of white dunes and sand separates the lake from the ocean’s deep waters. Since when did this even exist? Perhaps I should have paid more attention in Australian geography classes.
