Coffee Faces

January 15, 2016 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

Happy Friday! Here's a fun post to celebrate the coming of the weekend. Backbone Branding design studio from Armenia created a coffee cup with some serious personality. They're not only incredibly adorable (and kinda cheeky), they're also customisable allowing the drinker to change the mood of their coffee cup according to how they're feeling that day. Clever? Yes, I think so. Via . . .

Quintuple Colouration

November 28, 2015 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

Although my wardrobe consists of every shade of black, my eyes seem to hover every time I see a burst of colour in a brand's identity. Here's some letterpress goodness from Don't Try Studio. "Though they are 5-color letterpressed, white-foiled, and triplexed, Designer Quentin Monge’s playful, self-promotional business cards still don’t appear to be trying too hard." — KELLY CREE Via Under . . .

Adding Fun through Colours

October 8, 2015 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

Being the first day back from our week-long public holiday (I love China!), we definitely needed some colour in our day. ...and I certainly found it when I came across the rebranding of London-based design agency Dalziel&Pow. Their logo was first created 15 years ago and it was finally time for a fresh new look, so they made it all about bright colours, patterns, and expressive . . .

Triangular Entertainment

October 5, 2015 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

Triangles are synonymous with Toblerone when it comes to confectionery. Using the knowledge of this iconic shape, Artistic director Maxime Damo and copywriter Gilles André created a series of four prints using the headline “the main piece of your films”. Can you guess which movies these posters are portraying?   [Answers in white, highlight for a sneak peek] - Titanic, Taxi . . .

A Small Refreshment

September 3, 2014 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

"It's the little things in life that make us happy." Coca-Cola seems to have stolen my life motto! Okay fine, it's hardly a line that I can claim credit for and this new campaign is seriously adorable. Miniatures seem to be quite the trend these days. These mini kiosks were placed in five major German cities: They had little vending machines to go along with their kiosks and sold . . .

Juice Up

April 30, 2014 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

It's such a refreshing change to go into a place and see that every single corner has been branded properly. #designsnob you might say (accentuated by the cool hashtagging and all), but that's what working in an agency for years does to you. Roots & Bulbs does it exactly that - London's first cold pressed juice bar - with the help of branding agency Robot Food. Juicing is the industry to be . . .

ABSOLUT’ly Open Canvas

June 27, 2013 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

ABSOLUT does not just create awesome ads: It also creates awesome campaigns. “Transform Today” happened in Williamsburg last weekend, turning an entire block of North 6th Street into an interactive display of some of New York's finest creative talent. Freshly painted white facades were reworked, grafitti artists gave live demonstrations in alleyways, and there was a display of storefront . . .

Sneaky Logos

February 21, 2013 By Shermaine Leave a Comment

My little nerdy Thursday night game for you. Because you'd much rather do this than settle down on your couch with a glass of wine... See if you can spot all the hidden messages within these logos Okay, they weren't too brain teasing but some are a little clever - never knew about the FedEx one. But the part that entertained me most was the writer's commentary on the logos (see . . .
